Stars and Stripes

Grandma and Grandad took the kids off to the Museum of Childhood today. Miss A informed me that it was 'full of toys that old people played with', which summed it up pretty well, I thought. They then ran riot in John Lewis before crashing out in the car on the way home. Thinking that their mad half-hour was past we decided to go to Pizza Express for dinner with G&G. The kids were just as mad there, unfortunately. They scooted along the padded seat that ran the length of one wall, they weaved between the tables and, in Little D's case, climbed the wall - quite literally. Very little was eaten and there were bouts of crying when Little D got strapped into the high chair to keep him in the one place. These were the kind of kids I would look at in a restaurant and wonder why their parents couldn't keep them under control. Not an experience to be repeated in a hurry.

It was dark when we left. The kids looked up at the stars then broke into a rendition of 'Twinkle Twinkle' which earned back a few 'cute' brownie points, luckily for them!

Poor Rob had been stuck digging trenches in the garden while all this was going on. Then again, perhaps he had the best deal all along...
