Unlike some friends, I wasn't woken by the "thundersnow" at 05:00, so got up to see rather more snow than there was yesterday (see extra). As a result, I went into Edinburgh mid-morning, but much had thawed. In the city, though, (15km away and 100m lower) there had clearly been much less snow, and it was melting fast
