You should be there

to find that something isn't right. Or maybe, you'd better not be there, Covid-wise.
The pubs and restaurants are preparing for Christmas. Even when I walked past our favourite pub close to home this morning, the lighting and patio heating radiated invitingly.
There will be more lights than customers because everything is closed.

At school, there are gradually more reports of sick people, colleagues and students quarantined or awaiting a test result. We are all in our own parts of the building, our own bubbles. Yet it is not entirely possible to keep strangers out of the bubbles.
There are more restrictions. More safety rules have been added to reduce the chances of spreading.
Two weeks before we have Christmas vacation. I hope the government decides to extend it a week or two, to long after the festive gathering of all empty-headed people.
