Christmas coffee

Today was definitely a day for my Christmas coffee and a mince pie. The weather has been awful all day and I was woken up at about 4.30am by what sounded like a massive explosion, followed by another about 10 minutes later. Turns out it was thundersnow. And I wasn't the only one woken by it and who thought it was an explosion at first. It was certainly the loudest clap of thunder I think I have ever heard. I feel slightly cheated though as here in Leith we didn't have any snow lying to go with the thundersnow (other parts of Edinburgh did have a covering snow). So I feel today was definitely a Christmas coffee and mince pie sort of day!
