I saw the lightning and heard the sound of the unusual  "thundersnow"  which seemed to be above the house and in the morning looked out on more snow but when I went for a walk it had turned to sleet with the trees losing their white outlines.  Apart from deer, rabbit and bird prints there were only two sets of human footprints on the track, one of them being from a man with a huge camera lens who was taking photos of the huge numbers of geese grazing in the stubble.  Large flocks of pink foots kept joining them and he reckoned there were more than two thousand birds in the field and he had seen two snow geese among them yesterday.  (Extra)   The collage shows the difference in weather and light today between my blips taken four days ago from the same locations but the field has been ploughed since Tuesday.  The geese are having fewer fields now after the stubble has been ploughed and I have included a very poor photo of them grazing.  By the time I reached home the dark clouds in the distance had unleashed torrential rain.
