Proper outback

We are watching the fourth series of The Crown (who isn’t?) and we are addicted. However we have just seen the episode that covers Charles’ and Diana’s tour of Australia in 1983 and really, Spain just doesn’t cut it as a stand in for the Australian outback. Not even if you put in a picture of Uluru as a backdrop. So we thought we would help out with some proper outback pictures from our own travels. Uluru and Alice Springs of course feature in that episode. Well, their Spanish stand ins do.

Clockwise: Uluru (used to be called Ayers Rock); the Painted Desert between Coober Pedy and Oodnadatta (yes we do have mesas); Alice Springs and the MacDonnell Ranges at sunset; landscape near Alice Springs.
