151 years to the day.

Today Murphy had an appointment at the dog groomers so we took Willis to Alresford, had a walk around and also had lunch in a favourite café. On the way back to the car we walked through the grounds of the church and learned that prisoners of war from the Napoleonic war were stationed in this sleepy little rural town. The officers were allowed to live with their wives and every night the church bell tolled a curfew at 9pm, this became such a regular event that it continued until 1914! This gravestone shows that lieutenant Jean Dr Lihuille passed 151 years to the day of my birth.

Another job was to get and erect their Christmas tree, it is looking magnificent.
