The Baby, Many Baptisms And A Bridge

It was an eventful day here at FBC!  Chris got us started in the traditional music service with a beautiful Christmas song that I was not familiar with, but it was the perfect way to begin our morning.  During the joint portion of our service, we heard a few words from Dr. David Smith about the importance of baptism in our lives as Christ-followers.  It does not save us and yet it signifies the commitment of our lives to Jesus.  After hearing David speak about it, our congregation was privileged to witness five baptisms, which included a husband and wife, and a father and two of his young sons!  Quite a blessing!  The final blessing of the day was the selection of our new interim pastor, Dr. David Smith! He is our bridge to the new senior pastor. His task will be lead and minister to our church body as we search for a new senior pastor.  I cannot imagine anyone more suited to the task ahead and I know we are in good hands, because we are in God's hands.  He has led us this far and He will continue to do so, as we seek His guidance in our search!
