Crumbled

This label from  Honey Bush Tea tin is probably older than most of my colleagues.I bought the tin in the late nineties when I took a detour trip with parents from their home in Bethlehem in the Free State province to my brother in Grabouw in the Western Cape.

Instead of taking the straight N1 highway we turned west at Richmond and went via Victoria Wes, Loxton, Carnavon, Williston, Calvinia, Nieuwhoudtville and Vanrhynsdorp to Vredendal at the West Coast and then south via Lambertsbaai through Clanwilliam (the only place in the world where rooibostee (red bush tea) and heuningblomtee (honey bush tea) grow), Citrusdal, Piketberg, Moreesburg & Malmesbury to Somerset Wes and Grabouw.

We didn't plan anything in advance and just looked for accommodation when we got tired of driving. We did sleep over at unconventional places. One must do a trip like this at least once through your home country.

Lamb leg for supper.
