Get Your Nuts Cracked Here

Another snow globe bought after seeing the ballet.
I remember taking Ruby twelve years ago when she was only four.
She had already been taking ballet lessons for a year.
I remember her now in her party dress ( which had been a bridesmaid dress in the summer ) and her navy blue double breasted coat with the velvet collar.
Just her and me to see the matinee in Leeds to watch the Northern Ballet.
I had splashed out and we shared a box that sat four. Wasn’t sure if her concentration would last the full length of the ballet and l thought she would cause less disturbance in a box.
How wrong l was,  she sat transfixed like a little statue, not moving or shuffling a centimetre.
She showed no reaction except at the end when she burst into tears because she didn’t want it to stop.
(This soon became a regular occurrence of tears at the end of a ballet for the same reason)
Since then we have gone lots of times at Christmas along with her two sisters and we always enjoy it.
But nothing matches that first time.
