Bridge

Second and - for us - final night of the conference. Whereas last night we went to the Chateau Neercanne, which was the scene of the dinner held for the heads of state and government in the middle of the Maastricht intergovernmental conference on 9-10 December 1991, which resulted in the infamous Maastricht Treaty. As a euro-nerd I duly photographed the signatures of the heads of state and government on the wall of the cellar, there specifically to memorialise this occasion. Unfortunately, it wasn't blippable, because I wasn't in the business of changing yesterday's blip, and I don't do subterfuge (or not very well, anyway), so I wasn't capable of pretending that it was today's blip.

Anyway, here we are crossing the bridge back to the hotel after dinner at what is said to be one of Maastricht's fine dining locations. To be honest, we weren't hugely impressed. OK, but nothing special. But the company was great, and a lovely evening was had. Tomorrow, onwards and eastwards.
