Sydney Harbour bridge

I have had such fun joining a watercolour workshop zoomed out from New Zealand over the past couple of months.. tonight we painted Sydney harbour bridge from the ferry terminal.  It is a bit rough and ready but what a lot to do in a short time.
This morning was productive stitching away at my Christmas projects which are nearing completion but not quite there yet.
The afternoon turned into a bit of chaos as someone rang the doorbell.. turned out it was the skip lorry delivering back a skip which was removed this morning from the neighbours building site.  It contained asbestos!! They don't handle asbestos so it was being returned!!!!  OMG... this skip is not 2 feet from our garden wall and maybe 10 feet from our front door and they have chucked asbestos into the skip over the past week!!  How much danger have we been put in? What damage has been done (the labourers don't wear masks)  I found eventually it was from roof tiles.. well... they took the roof down by lifting each slate and dropping it onto the floor below and anything that came out of there was just shards.. so asbestos dust risk was high I fear.  There is only one spot for this house to leave its skip so two wasnt an option.  I had the cmpany remove the empty replacement skip and leave the asbestos one meaning if they want to keep working they will have to deal with asbestos properly (I thought)  Within 10 minutes of the lorry going the two labourers were shovelling the contents of the contaminated skips into sacks... honest to goodness.. have they gone mad??? Various phone calls later I had been told to close all windows and under no circumstances to go outside!!! Environmental health are on the case but.. I was left shaking!!  I spoke to the owner who just said they (the contractor) would have to get it taken away and disposed of safely... and I said Yes and soon... but why were they digging in the skip????  he said they shouldnt be and that it should be covered..thankfully they have now covered it... but... I am livid!!! and actually extremely concerned about the situation. ...
... all will be well... but honestly...
