I loved the textures in this faded plant...

... though I have no idea what the large plant is (fellow blippers with more horticultural knowledge have now enlightened me, by identifying this as an ornamental artichoke - many thanks for that). 

Extras from Harlow Carr Gardens this morning are more textures on the surface of a tree trunk (where I can see the profile of an animal's head!) and a very cooperative hedge sparrow.

All the shots display autumnal colours and a dull day.
