Shocked And Sad

It was fate that provided the blip for today, but, to be honest, I should have preferred to have blipped the cat or something less upsetting. For here you have, for the GiveUsASmile challenge, another shocked face.

It came about as, to cheer up the little sparkly light on the front room windowsill, I thought to fill the vase with coloured cellophane pieces. Deciding that a different vase would be more effective I took one from said windowsill and, in doing so, inadvertently flipped the carved soapstone (maybe onyx) ball (you know the type - three balls each within the next, carved in situ) off its little plinth. In falling, the ball caught the edge of the radiator and fell to the floor in pieces, the centre being the only one to survive intact, see extra photo.

This is bad enough but it was a gift from a much-missed former colleague from his travels in the Far East. The pretty coloured lights have somehow lost their appeal.
