Rearrangement

We'd hoped to have a good sleep last night, and in a way we did, but we were interrupted *twice* by the building fire alarms going off. Once in the mid evening when we'd retired to bed early and I was just reading my book and dropping off, and once at 4am. Actually around those interruptions, I certainly managed to have a good rest and Mr A woke this morning feeling 100% better than yesterday. Since it's been one flood and two fire alarms, we're hoping that rush of misfortunes is now over....

Plans to walk over to Leith Walk to find the new mural by Shona Hardie of a local man who used to sleep rough on the streets of Leith were abandoned today. Rain stopped play. So I stayed in, and Mr A and I spent quite a bit of time on the wedding book project, and also some time rearranging the decor in the flat. We bought this print of Mystic van Eijk after we read about the Tulip Project in the Guardian during lockdown. We've enjoyed it since we got it framed, but we have struggled to light it properly. More or less by accident today we stumbled on the perfect solution.

So all of our new maps are up, and may get blipped at some point, and all of the things we took down in order to put the maps up are back on the wall in different places, and the things we took down in order to put those things up have been found new homes, e.g. on the wall of the family bathroom. If you get my drift. We're pleased with the new re-arrangement. And now we have some more plans to print and clip frame a few more of our own photographs for the kitchen.

So while it's been a quiet indoor day because of the weather and the COVID, it's actually been quite fun to do a few bits and pieces to improve our living environment, without actually spending any more money.
