Hurling

It is over ten years since the GAA (Gaelic Athletic Association) made the wearing of helmets compulsory in the game of hurling. Like any health and safety issue it met with resistance at first. It was to help cut down on the many facial injuries that were occurring in the game. Below is an article from the Irish Times about the issue.
