Out and About

Rock Island Dam

I drove to Quincy today, a town about 30 miles east of where I live. The landscape is dramatic because the Columbia River has carved it over time as well as the great Missoula Ice Age flood.

Ahead of me here is the Rock Island Dam. It provides cheap and clean hydro electric power. The dams along the river have changed the landscape, deepening the river and slowing it down. Our community benefits a lot from these dams.
