I had to go into Aldershot today, so took the opportunity to visit the Duke of Wellington on Copenhagen, his favourite horse (extra). Originally sculpted around 1840 to stand on the top the triumphal arch at Hyde Park Corner, London, the statue was moved to Aldershot, the home of the British Army, in 1885.

I then took a walk through the surrounding Wellesley Woodlands, and really needed some of those boots named after the duke.  Still the damp conditions enhanced the late Autumn colours nice;y, and there were even  quite a few examples of fungi around.  My more unusual find was a clump of Pufferball fungi, and this small one provides my entry for the Tiny Tuesday challenge,
