No Places For An Escapee Hen To Escape

We are not the only ones in lockdown now, as from last Monday all domestic birds have to be kept contained and under cover to prevent the spread of bird flu.

Unfortunately we don’t have a poly tunnel which a lot of people are using, so we have had to use an old run and some fruit netting. Last night when the boys went to put the chickens away there was only two and Cher was missing with a tell tale pile of feathers outside their enclosure. I was really upset fearing the worse. So I was absolutely delighted when as I was feeding Dion and Ty this morning, who should come wandering across the garden looking no worse for wear but Cher!

She was quickly returned to her pals and Eldest and I spent the next hour completely securing the enclosure to make sure there were no places for an escapee hen to escape!
