Cinderella and Adult Learning: Advent Day 16

Cinderella is a folk tale about unjust oppression and finally great achievements. Thought to have been first told some time between 7 BC and AD 23 the word 'Cinderella has, by analogy, come to mean one whose attributes were unrecognized: one who unexpectedly achieves recognition or success after a period of obscurity and neglect.'

Quite apt as a metaphor for our discussions today with the new Scottish Conservative Party Leader. 'We've ignored community based adult learning and community learning and development for too long. COVID has shone a light on the need for CLD-every community should have CLD-we need to support it now or we will lose it'

That was music to the ears of national adult learners' forum reps, and thanks to them for their input-especially those who were under the weather but made a point of being cheery.

Change is coming...Joy to the world and our adult learning communities today.
