opals

I love opals and I asked my talented jeweller friend Joannato design me a pair of earrings, as I still had some birthday money to spend (thanks, Mum and Dad!). 

Joanna drew several designs and these were the ones I liked best. The textured metalwork represents the sea and shore. I chose the opals from a selection, preferring ones which have more red/pink in the stone. An opal represents for me the love of life which gets me out of bed every morning. 

Joanna brought the finished earrings round for me today and we took Jess for a walk up Newtonairds Hill.
