Camellia in the rain

My friend Dan who has a green thumb gave me this camellia bush when it was about 18 inches tall. That was about five years ago. It is now about 4 feet tall but it never bloomed until this year.

The color of the bloom in the photo is really close to actual without any editing. Sort of purply mauve and pink. I have two blooms now and many more buds.

Being patient was worth the wait!
