Memories of Mom

The project began with the intention of sharing the making of a quilt with my mom who had dementia. Mom “helped” me arrange the nine small squares of the patterned fabric into a nine-block square. She tried, but it didn’t make sense to her.

It has been 2years since Mom passed away and I only recently have been able get back to work on the quilt again. I pieced 5 nine-block squares and have incorporated 4 of them into one large block on a blue background. The backing will be made out of the green fabric with the remaining nine-block in the center. The purple fabric will be used for the binding.

For some it is difficult to imagine the finished product by looking at the bits and pieces. For others it is no difficulty at all.
