They Make Me Smile

I ran across these fellows on a high closet shelf and decided they were just the thing. They are now on the entry table, which makes them devilishly hard to photograph what with the glass door and the mirror. I decided they had to appear here o Blip because nobody else is going to get to see them this year, and who knows if I'll remember where I put them next year?

Today was a day like most others. An outdoor visit from Dana and Jim for coffee morphed into more cleanup. We have a surprising number of pots that contain either dead plants or just the dirt from which we took  dead plants and most of them are too heavy for us to move. A couple of them are almost impossible to remove the dead plants from because of their shape...the dead plants and the dirt. This adds another layer of complexity....one doesn't usually think about removing dead plants from it when purchasing a new pot.

We are still trying to figure out what to do with the hot tub area without a hot tub. There was a purpose built concrete pad for a tub which we thought we would remove, but, like so many things here, it was built to survive. It's at least six inches thick and looks like it might have been poured on top of more concrete. It must be Sod's Law that the one thing we would like to get rid of is the one thing that survived.

Tomorrow's task will be figuring out what to do with the outdoor rug that we and then thought I had cancelled. It was delivered yesterday. Another example of Sod's Law is the fact that even when so many of us are having to resort to online orders for Christmas presents for people we are not allowed to visit is that the US Postal Service is overwhelmed and many gifts will not arrive in time. And the things that do arrive are the things we thought we'd cancelled....

Spike is quite recovered  and seems to have forgiven us for what we did to him. He makes us smile too....
