We went to Werribee open range zoo for the 1st time today and it was a little on the warm side(30 odd degC). So warm, the lions (and every other animal) were having a lazy day.

This fella here is 16 years old and is living with another male and a female. Both the male lions were given a hormone (basically a chemical castration) so they could keep the female company without fighting.
One of the side effects is they loose their mane.
Apparently the hormones are beginning to wear off and their manes are beginning to grow again.
