Tis The Season

I spent the day making my annual Christmas caramels.  I made two batches but overcooked the first one and now I have a caramel brick.  Not sure what to do with it.  I hate to throw it out but I could use it as a paving stone.  There are four ingredients in these caramels:  heavy cream, sugar, butter and Karo syrup, cooked to a precise temperature.  That's where I went wrong with the first batch, mostly because I was reading the thermometer wrong.  I'd better go get the new glasses my doctor said I should have.  I'll definitely do that before next Christmas. Definitely.
