Ripple lamination

I am no geologist but this is what this is.  Our farm is described as  lime rich clayey soil with impeded drainage and underneath there are many sandstone rocks that keep coming up to the surface.  Some of these rocks have many fossils of shells and seabed debris and occasionally pieces of these  ripples can be seen. They must have been caused by water and/or wind in the sand.   Millions of years ago when the ice of the Ice Age had melted forming our valley small creatures and shellfish evolved as the water from the ice drained away.  Today we are situated over 20 miles from the south coast.

Watched Strictly finals and the favourite won!  Supper with T and K as the news came through about the tougher restrictions over Christmas.
