Christmas Carol

This is a Carol. She’s had the most challenging year imaginable, leading a small national charity through some serious sh*t in her first year as director, including the death of a well known and long serving staff member. 

She’s led, motivated, supported,  been the shoulder to cry on, done emergency response, learned the ropes and generally dealt with a hellish workload...cheerfully, and uncomplaining. 

She’s one of the unglamorous, unsung heroes in the voluntary sector, and I was glad to be able to actually see her, thank her, buy her lunch and give her a fine bottle of malt...I wish I could do it for many more.
