Always read the small print

I got talked into buying ready-made shortcrust pastry for mincepies. Must admit it rolled like a dream but they got overcooked (see title). I am of the old school always making my own pastry - they are edible but I was also disappointed with the mincemeat, a good make but very runny - no way could I add drop of brandy.

It was very dark this morning (all day in fact) particularly when I was being a domestic godess then I heard the further depressing news of raging virus from South Africa and huge areas going into tier 4 - overdone mincepies slip into insignificance ( after we have eaten them).
