Sauchie Beach

Proper spring looking kind of day, too good to be cooped up inside doing nonsense like housework and all that. Shorts on, bike oiled, camera packed and off along the same but slightly less muddy tracks from last week.

Ended up over at the Dam near sunny Sauchie. There's a big maintenance programme going on up there just now, repairing the dam wall at one end of the body of water, so they've pulled the plug and let some of the water out. Normally it would be just up to below the numbers on the wall there, but it's down 2 metres for the next five months or so, when the Scottish summer will kick in and fill it all back up again.

Someone had already booked their space on the freshly grown beach by plonking a deck chair down. There was a towel covered sunbed nearby too. And an ice cream van selling 99s.

Bumped (literally) in to an old geezer further along the route, also out making the best of the Mediterranean vibe that was going on. Spoke to him for a bit until his beetroot complexion faded before we headed off in different directions, him off for a 99 and a sit on the beach, me off home.
