Blake and Spike’s Christmas Greetings

“ I suppose that means another awkward zoom call”, said Tim when once we had agreed that there would be no getting together for Christmas this year. Upon consideration I called him back and said we all seem to be zoomed out, especially the kids who have been doing zoom school all year, and the adults who are working from home, and that we would just make the traditional phone call to the family on Christmas Day.

We will probably do a face time call with Matt and his family. We will have to ‘fess up to the girls that we had considerable technical assistance in order to Venmo their gifts to them since we have been foiled in all attempts to send something a little personal.

They’d probably rather have the money!

We compromised with Dana and Jim...or perhaps I should say they have compromised with us. We will join them to open gifts, come home after that and go back for dinner. We will wear masks and keep our distance from Will (unless his Covid test results come down the chimney with Santa). Everything about this arrangement seems wrong and completely counter-intuitive, but it is certainly better than another holiday meal without any of our families.

Blake and Spike will be happy to do anything we decide. They were together last night while the humans ground out the above details...
