The Tool Shop

In town there is one of those old style hardware shops. They sell everything that you'd expect. The surprising thing is the size of the place - About the same size as your average newsagents shop.

Inside it is split up into several narrow alleyways and blind alleys - none more than a few feet in size. Every inch of wall and ceiling is covered in tools, fixings, kitchen utensils, bags, coverings, nuts, screws, bolts, drills - You name it.

The whole of the shop front on the pavement is covered in steps, buckets, cleaning tools, brushes, hoses, boxes, mops, sack-trolleys - everything that is big and won't fit inside.

Every night the shop keeper carries it all inside where it takes up all the available floor space. Every morning, when they open the shutters and door, it all has to come out again before anyone can get inside.

Every toen should have one of these!

I went there to get some small Torx type drivers so that I could take Jonathan's notebook apart to check the wireless card was seated properly. That took just a few minutes but it still would't work when I'd put it back together. The next four hours was soaked up obtaining new drivers and applications - all to no avail. Research shows that the failure of the wifi along with inability to turn the wifi on (there is no switch - it's via a function key only) seems to be a common problem with Toshiba laptops. Thanks Toshiba!
