Semper Eadem

It doesn't appear in the picture but that's the motto of the City Of Leicester, meaning 'always the same'. The thumbnail shows the crest.

Main photo is a part of the 1,000-piece jigsaw the Young Flums gave us for Christmas - a John Speed 1610 map of Leicestershire; this small section shows the town of Leicester (not a city until 1919) at that time.

Many of the names are familiar to me as I grew up in that county -  somewhere in the centre of the jigsaw is my village, which is included in the Doomsday Book, the church retains its Norman doorway.

I shall enjoy this particular Christmas Jigsaw - thanks, kids!
