Dentist

A few weeks ago had an emergency visit to my dentist to have a tooth pulled, and he noted back then it was time to deal with a filling that was a bit wobbly as well as fix the broken off corner of one of my front teeth that was very visible. As I had booked today's appointment months ago for the annual check up, we agreed to do the repair work today.

The filling was easy but I had thought the chip was going to mean a new tooth but apparently it can be patched. It's big enough to use a drinking straw with closed teeth. A new tooth would have meant paying and dentist work is not cheap. So very pleased it was so simple and another free dentist visit.

"Free" is relative in health care terms, something it strikes me many Brits don't consider. Still see so many who think the NHS is "free". One of the many things they don't seem to comprehend about costs, taxation, government, democracy, globalisation, inter-dependence .........
