Puzzling

Monkey Puzzle Tree

Monkey Puzzle trees. I have always wanted one, and might try to grow one this year. We came across this fine example whilst out for a walk to 'blow the cobwebs away. I do not know much about them, Wikipedia here we come, but I think they originate from South America?

It was a puzzling day all around really. The UK lost its 'Triple A' credit rating, and no economic commentator seemed able to explain the consequences with any sort of certainty; politicians including Balls and Milliband were even worse. Does this mean that we will now only have a 'gold' credit card instead of a 'platinum' one? Who has the credit card anyway? Oh - the idiot conservative and pathetic Lib Dem coalition lot I guess. Fills you with confidence....not.

The rugby was puzzling, from a French point of view. They made very strange substitutions that handed the game to England. I wonder if the coaching staff have had a big win with 'Paddy Power'; another conspiracy theory perhaps...

Our new kitchen hob was puzzling. Well - due to the fact that 2 of the rings would not work. So much for Siemens and Vorsprung durch Technik. the Germans are a pretty puzzling lot as well, except for the fact that they are financing most of the European debt which is quite good!

At least puzzles make you think. So puzzles are good really; who would want a life full of certainty?
