Haigh Hall

MrsB and I had a stroll up to the Hall this morning, as did loads of other folk! I couldn't believe how busy the country paths were, but I suppose it was good to see so many people exercising after Christmas!
Haigh Hall was rebuilt between 1827 and 1840 on a site of the original Manor house recorded as early as 1193.
Today it is owned by Wigan Council and provides 250 acres of leisure facilities including an 18 hole golf course and formal gardens, as well as play areas, a small-gauge railway, cafes, shops and numerous pathways through the variously wooded areas known as plantations.
I did a collage to show as much of the Hall as possible in one blip!
