Poor car

We went out for a bit of a walk / drive towards the coast. On the way back we came across a flooded road and thought it would be okay to go through. It seems it was not and the car broke down in the water.

We had to get out and push the car out of the water, which we did manage to do. We tried to start it but nothing happened. We called for help and the recovery man came and said water was in the air filter and that is usually terminal. The car had to be recovered.

As we are in tier 4 we were told that we could not go with the car and would have to make our own way home, unless our recovery policy covered a taxi. They checked and it did thank goodness. So we got a taxi and the car followed. It is now sitting on our driveway looking cold and sad.

I think tomorrow Rich will be getting in touch with our insurance company and some local garages. :-(
