Heydon

M wanted to take his car out for a decent drive today.  It's not being used much at the moment due to the Covid restrictions and he felt it needed a run-out.  We decided to visit the privately-owned village of Heydon, (3 miles north of Reepham).  It was impossible to get a photo of the village with the lens I had but this is the view from the churchyard.  The village has been used as a film location several times.  'The Go-Between' was partly filmed here along with a Monty Python sketch.  Apart from being picturesque, no new buildings have been built in the village since the Well house was built in 1887 to mark Queen Victoria's Golden Jubilee, and it enjoys conservation status.
There is a rather pretty tea rooms and a handsome pub, closed at the moment of course with Norfolk being in Tier 4, but well worth a visit in the future.
The first extra I just took for amusement, one of a pair of rather heavenly parking cones outside Heydon church.

The other extra is the nearby Corpusty Church which is set on top of a rise a little away from the village of Corpusty.  You can see from the field in front of it why our roads get so muddy in the winter!
