Home Comforts

I rather like this row of independent businesses opposite the bank at one end of our High Street: there's something nostalgic and comforting in their names and the service they provide in these increasingly corporate times. Perhaps one side effect of the pandemic will be to see more such stores returning to our towns.

With the golf course still closed, we took a load of cardboard and Christmas wrapping paper to the Recycling centre this morning and had a bit of a stroll before the rain set in again.

I can confirm that yesterday's turkey stock made a tasty basis for vegetable soup for lunch today. Tonight I made a turkey curry. Still enough left for sandwiches!
