Where's my home gone?

There was a beautiful thick hedge row growing here for as long as I can remember. It was ripped out and replaced by this smart wooden fence a few weeks ago. Trees had been planted in the adjoining field earlier this year - no doubt there will be houses on it very soon. I'm not averse to progress but I did feel a bit sorry for this little fella today.
