Great Dun Fell

We have had very little snow in the last few days, so it is just on the highest fell tops. This is looking over towards the Pennines and Great Dun Fell, unmistakable because of the 'golf ball'! You can also see Dufton Church below.

Great Dun Fell is the second highest mountain in England's Pennines and has the Radar Station at the top. We can always see the 'ball', but rarely can we see the various towers and antennas; we wondered whether they were covered in snow at the moment and that is what makes them visible.

So we have been escalated from Tier 2 to Tier 4. Well. its hardly surprising with the high rate of cases in a lot of Cumbria. I wonder whether it has anything to do with the numbers of people travelling to the Eden Valley and the Lakes - apparently the popular places have been very busy over the holiday time. Our village today was packed and I watched many people walking down from High Cup Nick. Why go to the places where you know lots of other people will be? Beats me.
