Murmuration

Another relaxing day. A little bit of study first thing and then a few house jobs. We'd been alerted to a daily starling murmuration by fellow blipper Arja at Wilstone reservoir (just done the road from Tring reservoir we visited a couple of days ago). We were there as the sun started to drop (as did the temperature brrr) and around 4pm the starlings started gathering in greater and greater numbers. It was quite a sight and although the light was pretty much gone, we stayed until our hands were frozen! One photo of the birds arriving in the extras but the final group was many times larger than this.

Edit January 2021: The Oxford/AstraZeneca vaccine is approved in the UK, meaning it is the second vaccine to enter the national rollout. The UK is very early globally to approve vaccines.  There is some feeling of hope that the vaccine is the route out of the pandemic.

However, there is debate about whether to roll out a first vaccine to more people, delaying the second dose. This was not how they were tested originally.
