A Day In The Life

Auld Lang Syne

We live at the bottom of two hills, but slightly higher than where they both meet. The runoff from rain and melted snow often creates a sometimes meandering and oftentimes swift running creek below our house. It provides fresh water for deer, fox, squirrels and other wildlife for many months of the year • Today, being the last day of the year, this creek represents a sort of washing away of what’s been a long and arduous year; it isn’t often that people of the world are able to share collectively in one experience. Ironically and sadly, Covid-19 has brought us together, and has reminded us how vulnerable we are • As we reflect on 2020 most of us have had both happy and sad moments, and certainly our share of ups and downs. It’s also a time to remember those we’ve walked this year with, those who have endured our joys and pain. Christian Lingner wrote “Our supreme task is friendship. Bearing burdens together and sharing each other’s delights.” • 2021 is a fresh beginning for humankind. I remain hopeful and grateful. Cheers to the Blip Community, for walking this road with me, and for your ongoing friendship as we begin anew.
