Perfect!

Icy cold, but sunny, dry and still - perfect for a walk.

We've often thought about exploring Monday Cleugh, and today we did it. No path as such marked on the map, but it's access land, and there was a definite path to the top. And it turned out to be a lovely - and interesting - way to get up on to the moors and St Cuthbert's Way. There's a hill fort on the cleugh, and settlements and homesteads too. Once on St Cuthbert's way, we decided to make it a longer walk, and rather than heading straight back to Wooler followed St Cuthbert's Way across to the Common Burn Road.

Bitterly cold on the moors, and the tracks were covered with sheet ice. Some fabulous views along the way, of Yeavering Bell,  the Newton Tors, Hedgehope, and The Cheviot. The Blip is looking back to the Newton Tors from Common Burn Road. As we walked back down, we watched the sun go down behind the Cheviot (extra).
