just an ordinary street in an ordinary town

Dog, children ..... robot.  

A bit of short-lived sunshine so a walk to the shops.  Not too busy.  But cold.

Anniemay and I were driving through the town a few days ago and saw a robot up ahead on a traffic island waiting to cross the road.  It was a 30mph zone so we weren't going particularly fast.

We were still some distance away when it started to cross; it got about halfway then suddenly shot backwards onto the traffic island.  The speed with which it reversed took us both by surprise.  

We assume it had assumed that we wouldn't slow down or stop while it crossed.  We would of course, but I guess it can't afford to take that chance. Bless.
