Cycling along the borders of Maastricht

There was a little bit of snow here and there, when we got up. On the way the ice rain turned into snow, into rain.  We are strong and actually thought it is very funny that we cycled in this biting cold.
Then it finally got dry and it seemed lighter in the sky. We cycled along the Albert Canal from Lixhe to the northernmost bridge to enter Maastricht.  There are very few possibilities to cross the river Maas, so we drove back home via Valkenburg.

On the blip of te day an entrance to a quarry on the Albert Canal.  The quarry is a large quarry with a network of tunnels of about 6.5 kilometers of tunnels up to eight meters high.  The quarry has four different levels.

I like roadside info.
