Yesterday’s sun and light rain partially melted much of the snow although the overnight frost made it much easier to walk along muddy tracks. It was another day with far reaching views to the snowy Highlands and views in the opposite direction across the fields to the Lammermuir hills in the south east.  It is easy to forget the troubles facing so many people now, in the relative solitude of the countryside where we seldom see more than six people walking, none of whom feel the need to wear a mask as social distancing is no problem.  We are very fortunate to easily access quiet places on foot and are not confined to busy streets or even our home as many are.
