Busy Sunday

After a nice 10k walk round town, came home and watched Talking Pictures on BBC 2, where Sylvia Syms was looking into the history of western films, so I thought today’s photo was apt. White Wind was a member of the Lakota tribe of South Dakota.

I remember watching Cowboy and Indian films as a kid and loving them, and always wanting John Wayne to vanquish the ‘injuns’.

That said, thankfully times have changed, and we now realise that the cowboys weren’t necessarily the ‘goodies’ and were in fact, the ‘baddies’, invading the land whose ancestors had lived on for many generations previously.

Sorry, a rather deep discussion for a Sunday.
