Lathyrus Odoratus

Magenta

I struggled to find some new winter colour today until I spotted these Purple Jellydisc fungi  (Ascocoryne sarcoides) hiding in a crack on a sawn beech trunk. As in most things fungi it could, of course, be something else and I'm learnimg to hedge my bets. So, this could also be Ascocoryne cylichium which is almost identical at this stage of development. Time will tell, provided I can find the same bit of wood again.
