Learning day by day

Can you tell I was wearing the wrong goggles?

Lazy morning, all still in pj's after nine o'clock. Nanna and Poppa came to take Carys to Lordship Bennington to see the snowdrops and W decided he wanted to walk (read sit in the buggy and snuggle) to swimming. So we did, in double quick time, but I forgot his lunch.

Somehow the swimming goggles got all mixed up. I did see the teacher swop the goggles that W had on initially but didn't realise that he had the wrong ones on until he looked in the mirror after swimming and said 'Look Mummy the wrong goggles give me circles!' sure enough he had big red marks from the goggles and I know the ones he has are not his as his are missing a little blue dot thing on one side, these have dots on both side. Anyhow he'll survive.

So after a quicklong lunch of toast and jam and a few jobs in town we headed home where he remembered that I said we could cook. So we decided to make chocolate cookies, which were simple to make but hard work mixing, according to W!

C arrived back and tea was had. Kids in bed and Jim headed off to Letchworth for the planning control meeting about the 3G pitch behind us. A number of hours later and a victory for the residents. The college is not allowed to build a 4m metre wall at the end of our garden and the decision on their application to increase the hours they are allowed to play on it has been deferred unnless thay can show a change of circumstance from the situation as it was when planning permission was originally given. It was also commented on that the council had not received any letters of complaint over noise etc so our councillors were encouraging us to write in and copy them in. I am very good at writing those sort of letters.
